On October 28, 2007 the William Osler Brampton Civic Hospital opened its doors to the community it serves. It is part of William Osler Health Centre, which also includes Etobicoke General Hospital and Peel Memorial Hospital. Brampton Civic Hospital is an open, accessible, public hospital. It provides the community with a modern facility, advanced medical equipment and a comprehensive range of
health services.

Over the past four years Vernacare had consulted with key hospital staff, contractors and designers to discuss the implementation of The Vernacare System across the new site. The hospital, seeking ways to improve infection control and demonstrate environmental leadership by reducing plastic bedpans, urinal and bowls, has committed to fifty-one macerators from Vernacare.

The hospital is looking forward to the many benefits of The Vernacare System such as:

• Conserving and redirecting nurses time
• Environmental stewardship
• Reduction of microbial debris spread (impact on outbreaks)
