Vernacare wins third manufacturing award of 2012

Bolton-based medical products producer Vernacare has been highly commended in the prestigious Manufacturer of the Year Awards - joining an elite group of finalists, including, BAE Systems, Rolls Royce, Ford, Sony, Coca-Cola and United Biscuits. This accolade follows the company's recent success in the Cranfield School of Management and Work Management's Best Factory Awards, which set the benchmark for excellence in manufacturing and engineering. Vernacare won the Judges Special Award for leadership, cultural change and engineering, and were 2nd placed ( Highly Commended ) for Best Process Plant. In 2011 the company also received the Queen's Award for Innovation.

Leading infection prevention organisation Vernacare Ltd, based in Bolton has been nominated by Cranfield School of Management for the 2012 Best Factory Awards which celebrate manufacturing excellence in the UK. Vernacare is nominated for the following categories - Best Process Plant, Best S.M.E., Supply Chain Award, Judges' Special Award, and so eligible for the Factory of the Year Award, within the national manufacturing awards, which are now in their 21st year.

On October 28, 2007 the William Osler Brampton Civic Hospital opened its doors to the community it serves. It is part of William Osler Health Centre, which also includes Etobicoke General Hospital and Peel Memorial Hospital. Brampton Civic Hospital is an open, accessible, public hospital. It provides the community with a modern facility, advanced medical equipment and a comprehensive range of health services.

CHICA-Canada National Education Conference

CHICA–CANADA (COMMUNITY AND HOSPITAL INFECTION CONTROL ASSOCIATION-CANADA), in partnership with Vernacare, is pleased to announce it will present the first Vernacare Lecture at the CHICA-Canada National Education Conference (Toronto, May 29-June 2, 2011). On June 2, 2011, the Vernacare Lecture will feature Dr. Michael Gardam, CHICA-Canada Physician Director, presenting Hot Topics. The content will be announced at a later date. CHICA-Canada President Anne Bialachowski said, "CHICA-Canada’s annual national education conference has become the premier Canadian educational event for Infection Prevention and Control Professionals (ICPs).
